A benefit concert for Eugene Howell,better known as Detroit hip-hop mainstay Hex Murda,will be held Oct. 17 at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit. Howell, an instrumental figure in the behind-the-scenes world of Detroit rap, suffered a massive stroke Sept. 13 and is currently under doctors' care at an area hospital.
Performers at the benefit include Black Milk, Guilty Simpson, Paradime, Royce da 5'9", Trick Trick, Fat Killahz, Phat Kat and Slum Village. Proceeds from the concert will go toward Howell's medical bills. Howell, 37, manages Black Milk and Guilty Simpson and works with many of the key members of the Detroit hip-hop community.
He is known as an ambassador of Detroit hip-hop
